Owner Surrender Form

Thank you for contacting Okanogan Angels regarding surrendering your animal. Owner Surrenders are contacted on a first come basis, and are pending a K9 Assessment from our team.  There are a few "housekeeping items" we need to address before moving forward.

1. We are 100% Foster based at this time. We can only accommodate the number of animals we have fosters for - you can help. If you are willing to continue to hold your dog (once approved), we can make your dog available in our system much sooner, networking for local adoptions and information can be shared to partner shelters.

2. We are not able to take in aggressive dogs, as none of our partner shelters can accommodate them, and we do not have a facility that would allow for us to work on rehabilitation. (Not all "aggression" necessarily disqualifies a dog, contact us if you would like to ask about your specific situation)

3. Specific breeds do take longer than others, especially in dogs older than 2 years. Some of those breeds are Husky, German Shepherd, and Pit Bull - that does NOT say we can't help, it just means it can take longer. Some of our fosters also have breed restrictions due to their (or their landlord's) homeowner's insurance policy. 

The following are all the steps required for us to help you. These steps are not optional. We are all volunteers and if the process isn't followed, your information gets lost.
Even after the steps are completed, we CAN NOT guarantee a placement.

1. First - please message a photo (or two or more ) and copies of vet records to us here or email to surrender@okanoganangels.org Please add the dog's name either on the photo itself, or in a message with that photo. If you can, do a short write-up giving us the back story and some of the best and worst things about your dog (like an "ad").

2. Second - Put as much information as possible (use the "ad" write-up above) and post on the Okanogan County Rehoming - Home to Home Facebook group. (If you are not on Facebook, please indicate that in your email or message with photos, and we can complete that process for you)

4. Lastly - file an owner surrender application here
